It's an admittedly confessional approach, but I remember reading Clement's answer to this in his Exhortation to the Heathens.
He said that any similarities found between Jesus and pagan deities were only further proof of Jesus' Messiahship, since they were misled interpretations of the Divine Logos and the salvation that would come through Jesus Christ. They were "false Messiahs."
