Some thoughts on the Book of Abraham

Over at Mormon Coffee they did a great introductory series on the Book of Abraham; its fallacies and inconsistencies. If you aren't familiar with the Book of Abraham and are interested in Mormonism, it is a very fascinating book and most certainly one of the oddest of all the LDS scriptures. Also, it is a great tool to use in witnessing to your LDS friends if you are aware of the issues.

James White on Issues Etc. discusses heaven and Mormonism

A few days ago, James White, one of the leading defenders of the Christian faith against Mormonism, was on Issues Etc. discussing the Mormon concept of heaven and exaltation. This is perhaps one of the most important aspects of LDS doctrine that you are sure to hear about if you spend more than a few visits with Mormon missionaries. Among other things that were discussed on the program was the Book of Abraham. Take a listen!

Mormonism and the lost book of Abraham

If there is one thing you could do to show a Mormon as to how how the Mormon faith is false, show them the issues behind the book of Abraham. If you don't know anything about the book of Abraham, it is part of their inspired Scriptures found in the Pearl of Great Price. Any attempt to defend this book as anything other than Egyptian paganism is completely and utterly futile. Watch this video. To understand how one could believe that Joseph Smith is a prophet after watching a video like this is beyond me.
