What if God read your posts?

Recently, MICHAEL PATTON of RECLAIMING THE MIND posted an excellent ARTICLE on how to behave online.  Being one who engages in a fair amount of online discussion, I have found this information to be extremely helpful and convicting.  The fact of the matter is, many of us, including myself, tend to say things behind the keyboard that we would never say to someone's face.  But this should never be the case.  We should act with consistency and seek to implement gentleness and respect as best we can when engaging in dialogue (1 Pt. 3:15, 2 Tim. 2:23-26), whether it be in person or on the internet.

If you are one, like me, who regularly engages in online discussion, this article is a must-read.

Unfortunately for athests, ethics are not determined by God, but by evolutionary mechanisms, social conditioning, and mental stimuli.  So this article may not be of use to you.

And speaking of "saying things behind the keyboard that we would never say in person," i'm really trying to overcome that.  This is why I now have a GOOGLE VOICE phone number whereby I can actually talk to people.  And its available to anyone who wants to talk, even anonymously.  678-208-9153.  If you engage in a lot of internet discussion, i'd recommend going this route as well.  Its free and easy.  You get your own number which you can use from your computer or house/cell phone.  Click the link above to get more details.
